Archon has performed several piping and support analysis for our industrial clients.
The UF6 Piping Project:
The client for this project was a uranium enrichment facility. Their base design for their uranium hexafluoride piping was provided by an overseas supplier. Because of this, the system was not verified to meet US standards, i.e. ANSI B31.3. Archon was contracted to analyze the entire system and compare the results to ANSI B31.3 requirements. This was a large project that involved the analysis of nearly 20 individual piping systems as well as their associated supports.
Our analysis showed that some modifications to the supports and pipe routing were required to ensure that US standards were satisfied.
